About the Language Hobo Toki Pona TTS
Our Toki Pona text-to-speech engine is a neural TTS model built specifically for Toki Pona. Unlike some of the other tts models you might find out there, it isn’t a Spanish, Finnish or Italian voice reading Toki Pona text, and it doesn’t rely on IPA conversion or stitched one-word audio clips.
Nope, none of that malarkey! This is the real deal. The model was trained using hours of recordings from fluent speakers, so what you’re getting is natural phrasing, correct stresses, and genuine human-sounding audio.
Until now, folks who wanted to hear their Toki Pona text read out loud had to use workarounds - borrowing voices from other languages, stitching words together, and getting mispronunciations or awkward-sounding dialogue that wasn’t very pleasant to listen to. Our tool changes all of that.
Type any sentence up to 200 characters using the Toki Pona alphabet (a e i j k l m n o p s t u w) and basic punctuation, press Generate, then sit back and listen. You can change the speed as well (0.5x - 1.5x), and every clip can be downloaded as a .wav.

Do I need to use a Spanish or Finnish voice to read Toki Pona?
No! That was the common workaround before our native model was built. That method was fraught with issues. Our tool was trained on Toki Pona directly.
Do I have to convert my text to IPA first?
No way! Just type (or paste) regular schmegular Toki Pona spelling and our TTS takes care of the pronunciation itself. It even removes non-Toki Pona letters and non-standard punctuation from the text for you.
Is the audio free to use in my own projects?

What are the limits?
200 characters per generation and the standard Toki Pona alphabet plus standard punctuation (. , ! ? : ;). Anything outside of that will be stripped and not read. So be sure to convert your text to proper Toki Pona spelling for the optimum experience.
Does it work on mobile?
It certainly does! It runs on all modern browsers, and requires no installation.
