Ukrainian is spoken by over 35 million people, primarily in Ukraine, but also in Russia, and other neighboring countries. It is the third most widely spoken Slavic language, and is written using the Cyrillic alphabet. In writing, Ukrainian and Russian are mutually intelligible.
