Let’s be real here: sometimes you just wanna get to the nitty gritty of a language without learning all the weird and wacky grammar. Sometimes, you just want to be able to say the things you usually say, but in Russian.

If this sounds like you, then this post should be right up your alley. We’re bringing you 20 of the most common “I am…” sentences in Russian (well, in all languages, really), so you can jump right in to using the language.

A brief note about gender in Russian: the Russian language has gendered nouns and adjectives. For this reason, you’ll find some phrases with 2 versions, representing both male and female.
