Russian is the most widely spoken Slavic language in the world, with over 250 million speakers. It uses the Cyrillic script, and is closely-related to Belarusian and Ukrainian. Outside of Russia, a large number of Russian speakers can also be found in neighboring Mongolia along with most of the previous Soviet states.
