You won’t find better than Bluebird’s English – Basque Dictionary among dictionary apps. Not only is it free to use (supported by non-intrusive ads) but it contains 33,000 words, all accompanied by native speaker recordings. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, each word comes with a picture, too!

The app is straightforward, very easy to use, and you don’t need an account to get started. It’s as simple as installing, typing an English word into the search bar, and clicking search.

You’ll get a selection of translations to choose from, including phrases containing the word you searched for. This way, you’ll be able to see how the words are used in different, useful sentences.

The dictionary is not bi-directional, so you can only search for words in English and the results will show the Basque translation.

The only major downside is that, due to the large multimedia content, the app is only available online and doesn’t offer an offline mode. Also, it’s currently only available on Android devices.

Select either the American English – Basque Dictionary or the British English – Basque Dictionary depending on your needs.

You can save words to your favorites list, and revisit words from your saved search history.
