Jamaican Patois

Jamaican Patois is technically a dialect of English, though many consider it a language in its own right. It’s a creole that developed between the 1670s and 1770s, and has its own grammar rules, syntax and structure. There are more than 3 million speakers in Jamaica and the diaspora.
